Executive Director

Heather “Hef” Turner has a deep passion for helping Fellows discover more of who God has created them to be and guiding them to see what they might not yet see in themselves and to grow in confidence in God’s unique call on their lives.

Originally from southwestern Virginia, Hef attended Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina. After graduation, she served on Young Life staff in Shelby for six years before moving with her husband, CT, and their daughter, Reese, to his hometown of Winston-Salem. They later welcomed their second daughter, Miller Jane. Hef joined the Winston-Salem Fellows staff in 2019 and became Director in 2024 after serving as Assistant and Co-Director.

Hef enjoys slow Saturday mornings witah a good cup of dark roast coffee, hikes on crisp fall days, and family movie nights with her family.

Fellows Ambassador

Caleb Hoekstra is a strong believer in the way Fellows lays a foundation, not only for young adults to build their lives on Jesus in the context of Christian community, but also for Jesus to shape the next generation of “wounded healer” servant leaders in His Church.

Caleb experienced this firsthand as a member of the 2021 to 2022 Winston Salem Fellows cohort and has remained an active alumnus ever since. Originally from Lansing, Michigan, he has enjoyed putting down roots in Winston Salem, a big small city where he has found meaningful friendships across generations, from teenagers to eighty somethings, many of whom have become like family.

When he is not working or spending time with friends, Caleb enjoys walking wherever he can, reading, and writing poetry.

Caleb joined Winston Salem Fellows as an Ambassador in August 2026. It is a labor of love for him to share what God has done and continues to do through the Fellows experience. He serves in this role alongside his Pastoral Residency at Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
