With three state parks within a 45-minute drive and Salem Lake’s 7-mile loop right in town, there’s no shortage of outdoor fun. You’ll find amazing mountain biking trails at Tanglewood, Hobby Park, and Horizons Park, and beautiful spots like Reynolda Gardens, Quarry Park, and Graylen Park perfect for picnics or tossing the Frisbee. Whether you’re into ultimate frisbee, soccer leagues, or even Gaelic football, Winston-Salem has something for everyone!

One of the unique aspects of the Fellows Program is that you’ll live on a 200+ acre property. The Fellows House isn’t just a place to live. It’s a place to belong. You’ll share everyday life with other Fellows, cooking dinner together, grabbing coffee, hosting friends, and building friendships that can last well beyond the program.
And there’s plenty to explore right outside your door. Wander the property’s walking trails, spend time in the garden, or visit the farm and its animals. When you’re ready to venture out, local coffee shops and restaurants are just minutes away, with downtown, Bailey Park, and the Innovation Quarter close by.
With Wake Forest University, Winston Salem State University, and UNC School of the Arts, there’s always something happening, from college sports and live performances to festivals, concerts, and community events.
