“When I left college I was unsure what was next in my life. Having gone to a small college community came naturally but afterwards it felt hard to know where to turn. With the Fellows I was instantly a part of a group of strong believers all in the same stage of life as me. Over the next year we grew together in our faith, our relationships with one another, and our feeling of being a part of Winston Salem. Five years later I am still privileged to call many of fellows classmates dear friends.
Along with growing my community I grew in my understanding of myself. That understanding gave me clarity to peruse a completely different career path than I ever would have imagined which has now lead me to a job that I love. The sense of community I found and the greater understanding of myself have allowed me to flourish after college in a way I never would have dreamed. I am able to be stronger in my faith, my career, my marriage, and my relationships as a result of the foundations I received taking part in the program. For that I will always be grateful!”
“The Winston Salem Fellows program has been a catalyst for deep healing in my heart and story. It also has provided connection with good people and good work in our city. So much so that I decided to stay in Winston because it felt like it would take me a decade to arrive at the kind of connectedness within another city that was just built in for me here through the Fellows program. The intertwining of my life path with the Winston Salem Fellows has felt divinely orchestrated from the beginning, and I’m deeply grateful.”
“Four years ago I stepped out in faith moving from Pennsylvania to a town called Winston-Salem to live in Christian community and begin the WS Fellows Program. At the time, I didn’t know my worth in Christ and I couldn’t comprehend my story in relation to God’s story. That experience molded me into a God-fearing, confident, connected and compassionate servant leader who knows who and whose she is. My brokenness is no longer something that defines me. I have been a member on the board since shortly after the program ended because I want others to know that their testimony has power and that it’s also just the beginning of the Lord’s miraculous plan for them.”
“The Winston-Salem Fellows Program was a transformational experience in my early twenties. The program provided me with a community of other believers, challenged my beliefs about what a personal relationship with Christ truly looked like, and gave me the building blocks to create a Christ-centered life into adulthood. I’m grateful for the firm foundation in my faith the Winston-Salem fellows gave me during a critical time in my life.”
“The Winston-Salem Fellows program played a pivotal role in shaping my journey. It helped me live out my faith, build deep connections within the city, and provided incredible opportunities to grow in leadership and love for others. This program is the reason I call Winston-Salem home and plan to stay here for years to come. I genuinely love this city and am deeply grateful for how the Fellows program intentionally prepares you to thrive and make an impact beyond the program.”
